Why Bringing Little Ones on Safari is Pure Magic:

We recently had the absolute privilege of hosting a group of dear friends on safari—and what made this trip truly special was their travel companions: two adventurous little ones, both under the age of two.
Watching their tiny faces light up with pure awe at the sight of an elephant browsing or a hyena Laying in the road was nothing short of magical.
Their parents came prepared, bringing along their car seats, which turned out to be a game changer! Midday naps were taken right on the safari vehicle—snuggled up, warm and cozy, while the cool bush breeze drifted by.
The chilly weather didn’t put a damper on the fun at all. Instead, it added a touch of charm to the experience. The little ones were so content and engaged throughout, and to this day, they still talk about “their safari.”

There’s often a misconception that a safari isn’t suitable for very young children.
But from what we witnessed, it’s quite the opposite. Seeing the bush through their eyes—every animal a marvel, every sound an adventure—adds a whole new layer of joy to the experience. It’s a reminder of how nature speaks to all of us, no matter our age.
If you're traveling with little ones, consider booking out the whole vehicle. It takes the pressure off worrying if giggles or snack-time whispers will disturb anyone else. Plus, you’ll have the flexibility to move at your own pace—whether it’s stopping a little longer to look at giraffes or heading back early for nap time.

We are also lucky to have Jacques as our guide—an exceptional and highly skilled field guide, and a dad himself. He understands the rhythms of small children and shares in the joy of introducing them to the wild.
His passion and patience helped make the experience even more seamless and memorable.
So here’s our little note of encouragement to families: don’t let having small children hold you back from a safari. If anything, it makes the whole journey even more meaningful. The laughter, the wide-eyed wonder, the quiet naps under the African sun—it all becomes part of a story your family will treasure forever.
