Whether you're looking to experience the wild on horseback, enjoy a peaceful boat cruise, or take in breathtaking views from the sky, Hoedspruit has something for everyone. In this blog, we'll explore the must-do activities in Hoedspruit and everything you need to know to make your visit unforgettable.

Blyde Dam Cruise: Explore the Heart of the Blyde River Canyon
A visit to Hoedspruit wouldn’t be complete without taking a cruise on the stunning Blyde Dam. The dam, nestled in the foothills of the Blyde River Canyon, offers serene views of the surrounding mountains and lush vegetation. As you glide through the calm waters, you’ll have the opportunity to spot wildlife such as crocodiles, hippos, and an array of birdlife, if you are as lucky as I am, you might even find the elusive African Finfoot.
The Kadishi Tufa Waterfall, also known as the "Rite of Passage" waterfall, is a unique and stunning feature of the canyon. It’s one of the tallest tufa waterfalls in the world, with water cascading down a series of mineral-rich formations, creating an awe-inspiring view.
The Three Rondavels, which are also visible on the boat cruise, are one of the most recognizable landmarks of the Blyde River Canyon. These three majestic mountain peaks, which resemble traditional rondavel huts with their rounded tops, rise dramatically above the Blyde River and the surrounding landscape.
